Crystals for Anxiety

One topic I get asked the most about from my customers and social media followers is what crystals are the best for helping soothe anxiety.

I’ve suffered really badly with anxiety at various stages of my life, most recently when I’d just got pregnant with Little Bug and developed pre-partum anxiety, which progressed into severe post-partum anxiety following his birth, and I relied heavily on crystals and mediation through my recovery, so all my recommendations are always a mix of crystals I’ve used personally, as well as those which have been documented to help others.

As this topic forms one of my most frequently asked questions, I thought I’d turn it into a helpful blog post for those who struggle with anxious thoughts to refer back to when needed.

So without further ado, here are my top recommended crystals to help with anxiety and anxious thoughts.

Amethyst: When you need to feel peaceful and relaxed, this is the stone to reach for. It helps you find inner peace, regardless of the noise around you and with its relaxing and calming energies, it helps to ease away any disturbances, distractions or anything else taking up space in your mind. Acting as a natural stress reliever, Amethyst purifies your mind of worry, anxiety, and all other day-today stresses so that you can settle into a more tranquil and peaceful state of mind.


Rose Quartz:
Ultimately, Rose Quartz wants to align you to self-appreciation and self-love, because true love starts with you. Rose Quartz will ground you and slow everything down, helping you to mellow out and be kind and compassionate to yourself. When you’re in a cycle if anxiety / depression, self-talk is generally not very kind, and having Rose Quartz with you will help remind you that you are worthy of love, especially from yourself, and that you are enough. It will also help you to stay in the present moment, which will soon have your worries melting away. It also teaches forgiveness – for others and yourself – and it will open your heart more to receiving love.

Fluorite: Fluorite was one of my ultimate rock stars when it came to my own healing journey. Carrying a piece with you can help keep you calm and cool-headed during daily life. When your head is in a spin, Fluorite can help slow your overactive mind and declutter those conflicting thoughts. It’s also wonderful for boosting your desire for your own general well-being and self-care. It also calms, creates rational thoughts, and soothes mental and emotional chaos.

Satin Spar (Selenite): Another of my Ultimate rock stars, I was using Satin Spar to help keep those negative thoughts at bay, from myself and others. It provides a wonderful and gentle protective energy, not just to yourself, but to your environment too – thanks to its cleansing energy it’s really good at helping you drift off to sleep, so always keep a piece by your bed or under your pillow if you suffer from sleep issues. It’s the perfect crystal to work with if you’re wanting to raise your vibration. Having a low vibrational energy can attract negativity and so raising your vibration is essential to keeping feelings of grief, fear, anxiety and anger out of your mental and physical space.

Sodalite: When we struggle with any form of mental health issues, communicating how we’re feeling can be really hard to do. Working with this stone can help boost your communication skills, helping you to find your voice and helping you to express yourself. Communication is key. Not only does clear communication help you to express your truth, it also helps others to understand it. If you’ve lost the ability to speak up for yourself or you are speaking without being heard, Sodalite can help you reclaim your voice. It’s known as the poet’s stone, and it encourages you to express yourself authentically and its nurturing energy will help you speak from your heart instead of your head. It can also help you to find your voice during tough conversations. Sodalite is also really useful to use during panic attacks and brings emotional balance, it enhances self-esteem, self-acceptance and self-trust.

Lepidolite: Due to the levels of Lithium this crystal contains, this stone is the perfect companion on your mental health recovery journey. It’s the therapist of the crystal realm, as it has the ability to have you ask yourself the right questions to decipher what’s going on in your head. Its soothing energy will helps to dissolve negativity and ease your mind, and helps you to slow down and be present in the moment so that you can be more accepting of the things that are going on. Rather than letting anxiety interfere with your life, Lepidolite can help to prevent it escalating.

It’s worth remembering that whilst these crystals are all well documented for helping with anxiety, crystals can work differently for all of us. Trust your intuition when shopping for your crystals – these little nuggets have a wonderful way of letting us know we need them, and tuning into your intuition when crystal shopping will allow the right crystal to appear.
